Postponement FAQ

Due to the impending impact of Hurricane Milton, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the upcoming 2024 Florida Conference on Ending Homelessness to prioritize the safety and well-being of our attendees, staff, and partners.

Originally scheduled for October 15-17, the event will now take place November 12-14, 2024 at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista.  

We have compiled the below list of Frequently Asked Questions to help our attendees navigate this change:
 

Registrations

  • Do I need to re-register for the conference? 
    • All registrations for the conference remain valid. An email was sent asking you to confirm your attendance by October 29th, but if you missed that email and didn't confirm your attendance then we will assume you are still planning to attend.
       
  • I wasn’t originally registered for the conference, can I still register for the event taking place on November 12-14th? 
    • Yes, registration is still open! You can register here.
       
  • What if I am unable to attend the conference on November 12-14th? 
    • We will miss you but have two options for how to manage your conference registration: 
      • Transfer your registration to someone else who can attend in your place. If you need to transfer your registration, you can do so by filling out the postponement form in the email that was sent to you on October 9th. If you are unable to find that email and need assistance, please reach out to customer service (fceh@eventpowersupport.com)
      • Request a donation receipt to convert your admission into a tax deductible donation to FCEH. Please make this request by October 29th via the postponement form sent via email on October 9th or by reaching out to fceh@eventpowersupport.com with this request. 
         

Sponsors and Exhibitors

  • I am a sponsor or exhibitor, are there any changes to our agreement or action needed?
    • No, we will continue to recognize and honor the sponsor agreements in place at our upcoming event. If you purchased additional admissions with your sponsorship and can no longer attend please see the options above. 
       
  • I shipped sponsorship materials to the hotel already, what will happen to them? 
    • The Hotel Fedex will hold any packages already sent until our new conference dates.
       

Hotel Accommodations

  • What should I do about the hotel room I booked for the original event dates?
    • If you booked within our official hotel block, your reservation has been automatically canceled. You will need to rebook your hotel room for the new conference dates. (Link to Rebook) You should have received an email from the hotel denoting your reservation as canceled if your email was on file. If you are unsure if your room was canceled please reach out to the hotel directly. 
    • If you booked outside of the hotel block or at another hotel, you are responsible for canceling and rebooking your reservations.
       
  • How and where can I rebook my hotel room for the event taking place on November 12-14? 
    • You can rebook your rooms at the hotel using this Link to Rebook. The rates remain the same.
       

Agenda and Schedule 

  • Will the agenda remain the same? 
    • Our intention is to keep the agenda as close to the same as possible. In the coming days and weeks we will be reaching out to and coordinating with our Speakers on their availability as well as securing alternate presenters as needed. Our Agenda will be updated in real time as we gather more information so please check back often to see the latest updates. 
       

Speakers 

  • I was a scheduled speaker, when will I be speaking now? 
    • The FCEH Team will be reaching out to all of our speakers in the next week to confirm your availability to speak at the rescheduled date and times. Please be on the lookout for additional communication regarding your new speaking time and to confirm your availability.
       
  • What happens if I can’t speak during the new conference dates? 
    • We will do our best to make every accommodation possible to work with your schedule so you can still present but understand that these dates may not work at all for some of our presenters. If you are unable to speak you have the option to send a replacement speaker to speak on the same presentation or we can work on finding an alternative speaker for your spot. Additional details on these options will be provided in a separate email from our speaker manager, Claudia Niewar (cniewar@eventpower.com
       
  • Do I have more time to put together my presentation and get it uploaded? 
    • Yes, the date for presentation uploads in your speaker portals has been extended until November 4th.
